Shift: 40 Hours, Eve- (8 Hours)
Guaranteed Hours: 40hrs/week
Pay Rate: $34-$37/hr
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and proper handling of medical instruments and equipment. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are crucial in preventing infections and ensuring the safety of patients and healthcare workers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Inspect and prepare medical instruments and equipment for sterilization
2. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ethylene oxide gas chambers
3. Assemble and sterilize instrument trays
4. Monitor and record sterilization cycles
5. Maintain accurate records of instrument inventory and repairs
6. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines related to sterile processing
7. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments
8. Participate in quality assurance activities related to sterile processing
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST) preferred
- Previous experience in sterile processing or healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
