Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, processing specimens, and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and professional manner
2. Label and process specimens for testing
3. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory
4. Perform clerical tasks, such as data entry and sample tracking
5. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
6. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
7. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers
8. Collaborate with the laboratory team to meet department goals and deadlines
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Phlebotomy certification or training
3. Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is preferred
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well in a team environment
7. Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
8. Basic computer skills
