Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (RN PCU)
Location: Grand Forks, ND
Shift: Nights 48 hours guaranteed
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (RN PCU) provides quality nursing care to patients in the progressive care unit, monitoring and treating patients with complex and acute medical conditions. The RN PCU works closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best level of care and support possible.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide direct patient care, including assessing patients, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs.
2. Develop and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
3. Monitor and adjust patient treatment plans as necessary.
4. Educate patients and their families on their condition and treatment options.
5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure patient needs are met.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
8. Provide emotional support to patients and families during difficult times.
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
10. Stay current on best practices and developments in the field of nursing.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
4. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a progressive care unit.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
9. Proficiency in using electronic medical records.
10. Willingness to continue learning and improving skills.
11. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
