Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN - L&D)
Location: RN - L&D
Shift: 24-32 hour, 8 hour shifts (11p-7a)
Duration: 10 Weeks
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care and support to women during the childbirth process. You will work closely with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor laboring mothers and their unborn babies
2. Assist with labor induction and pain management techniques
3. Provide emotional support and coaching to mothers during childbirth
4. Conduct fetal monitoring and assess the progress of labor
5. Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed
6. Educate new mothers on postpartum care and newborn care
7. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and babies
8. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
9. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in L&D nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
6. Knowledge of childbirth practices and procedures
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
8. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
