Shift: Nights: 12 hr shifts 7p-7a
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Med/Surg Staff Nurse RN is responsible for providing direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform assessments and develop nursing care plans for patients in the medical-surgical unit
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
3. Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition
4. Educate patients and their families on care plans and treatment options
5. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
6. Maintain accurate and complete patient records
7. Follow all policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting
3. BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation
