Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (RN-PCU)
location: Albuquerque, NM
Shift: 12 hour nights (36 guaranteed)
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (RN-PCU) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals in need of progressive care. The RN-PCU will monitor patient conditions, administer medications, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and educate patients on their treatment plans. This position requires strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate bedside manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing patient conditions and developing individualized care plans
- Monitoring and recording patient vital signs and symptoms
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide holistic patient care
- Educating patients and their families on treatment plans and self-care measures
- Maintaining accurate and complete patient records
- Responding to emergencies and providing life-saving interventions as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- CPR certification
- ACLS certification for PCU setting
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a progressive care unit
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
