Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Location: Abilene, TX
Shift: Mon - Fri 1030 - 1930
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting surgeons and other medical professionals in the operating room during surgical procedures. They ensure that the operating room is sterile and that all necessary equipment is properly prepared and available for the surgery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures
- Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Help to position and drape patients prior to surgery
- Monitor and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure
- Count sponges, needles, and other surgical instruments before and after surgery
- Assist with cleaning and dressing wounds post-surgery
- Document and record patient information as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a surgical team
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
