Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (RN ER) provides care for patients presenting with a wide variety of medical emergencies. The RN ER works in a fast-paced environment, assessing patients, administering medication, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide the highest quality of care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and triaging patients upon arrival to the emergency room
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
- Performing interventions to stabilize patients in critical condition
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans
- Educating patients and families on their condition and treatment options
- Documenting patient care activities and communication with the healthcare team
- Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an emergency room setting
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation
