Location: Kealakekua, HI
Shift: 12 hr nights
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is responsible for providing nursing care to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. They assist with labor support, monitoring fetal heart rates, administering medications, and educating new mothers on postpartum care. The RN L&D works closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and monitoring the progress of labor
- Administering medication and pain relief
- Assisting with medical procedures such as inductions and cesarean sections
- Providing emotional support to patients and their families
- Educating patients on childbirth preparation and postpartum care
- Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate medical records
- Collaborating with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) highly desired
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery or Maternal/Child Health preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- CPR certification
