Job Title: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (RN PCU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with serious and complex medical conditions. This role requires critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, making recommendations for interventions and adjustments as necessary.
2. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders.
3. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
4. Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatments, and aftercare instructions.
5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system.
6. Respond to emergencies and medical crises with professionalism and efficiency.
7. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, colleagues, and visitors.
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certifications.
3. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care setting preferred.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
8. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
