Job title: ER Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: Days - 3-12 hour shifts
Location: Hilo, HI
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The ER RN provides high-quality care to patients experiencing medical emergencies in the Emergency Room setting. They assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity level
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Assist in procedures such as intubation, wound care, and IV placement
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
