Job Title: Med Surg Nurse
Location: Herrin, IL
Shift: Night shift
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
The Med Surg Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles in a Med Surg setting. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care under the supervision of a physician.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide quality nursing care to patients in a Med Surg setting
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement a plan of care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor and assess patient status and report any changes to the physician
- Educate patients and their families on disease management and prevention
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients at all times
- Document patient care in a thorough and accurate manner
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Med Surg setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of medical equipment and procedures
