Job Title: OR Technologist
Location: Midland, TX
Shift: Days & Evenings Available
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The OR Technologist is responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of operating rooms before, during, and after surgical procedures. They work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and efficiency of surgeries.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Setting up and maintaining sterile fields in the operating room.
2. Preparing surgical equipment and supplies for procedures.
3. Assisting surgeons and nurses during surgeries.
4. Operating surgical equipment such as lights and suction machines.
5. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing prompt assistance.
6. Maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures.
7. Ensuring the proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
8. Participating in the cleaning and restocking of operating rooms after surgeries.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent preferred.
3. Previous experience working in a surgical setting.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
7. Knowledge of surgical equipment and sterile techniques.
8. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
