Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide specialized therapy services to patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a desire to help improve the lives of individuals in need of occupational therapy.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients
- Conduct therapy sessions with patients to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living
- Monitor and document patient progress, updating treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program
- Valid COTA certification and state license
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Prior experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
