Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Shift: Rotating 7a-7.30p and/or 7p-7.30a 36hr guarantee
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
A Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders or cardiovascular problems. They provide respiratory care services under the direction of a physician and are skilled in treating patients of all ages.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform diagnostic tests to assess the respiratory status of patients
2. Administer medications and treatments to patients as prescribed by a physician
3. Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilators as necessary
4. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions and treatments
5. Assist in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or trauma
6. Document patient care and treatment plans accurately
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
2. Certification or licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
3. Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
7. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
