Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical
Location: Rock Island, IL
shift: weekend ONLY (Fri/Sat/Sun) OR (Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon) – Manager will accept 36hr/week or 48hr/week.
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This includes assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring patient health status
2. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
3. Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
4. Educating patients and families on their conditions and treatment options
5. Documenting patient care and progress in medical records
6. Providing emotional support to patients and families
7. Monitoring and ensuring patient safety at all times
8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting
4. BLS and ACLS certification
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment
8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
