Job Title: CNA Psych/BHU (Certified Nursing Assistant - Behavioral Health Unit)
Location: Brattleboro, VT
Shift: 7:00AM - 7:30PM/36 hours guaranteed
Duration: 13weeks
Job Summary:
As a CNA in the Psych/BHU department, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with behavioral health needs. You will work closely with the nursing and medical staff to ensure the safety and well-being of patients while promoting a therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor patient behaviors and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Help to enforce safety protocols and assist in crisis intervention when needed
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their recovery process
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
- Previous experience working in a behavioral health or psychiatric setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients with mental health challenges
