Job Title: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
Location: Sioux City, IA
Shift: Nights: 12 hr shifts
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care and assistance to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. You will work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and comfortable birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor fetal heart rates and uterine contractions during labor
2. Administer medications and pain relief techniques as needed
3. Assist with labor induction and delivery procedures
4. Provide education and support to expectant mothers and their families
5. Document patient assessments and progress
6. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care
7. Respond to emergencies and provide critical care when necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BSN or higher degree in Nursing preferred
3. Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
4. Previous experience in Labor and Delivery or Women's Health
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
7. Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
