Job Title: Registered Nurse (L&D) - Labor and Delivery
Location: Des Moines, IA
Shift: Nights; 12 hr shifts; 48 hrs/week
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care to pregnant women and their unborn babies during childbirth. You will work closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe delivery of healthy babies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor laboring mothers and their babies during childbirth.
2. Administer medications and pain management techniques as needed.
3. Assist with cesarean sections and other surgical procedures.
4. Educate patients on prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum care.
5. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
6. Document patient care and progress accurately.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred.
4. ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), FHM and NRP.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
6. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
