Job Title: RN Psych
Location: Coos Bay, OR
Shift: 12 hr days/nights 36 hr Guarantee
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The RN Psych is responsible for providing mental health care to patients experiencing psychiatric disorders. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients. The RN Psych also administers medications, monitors patient progress, and provides education and support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status
- Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects
- Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing (PMHN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatments, and psychotropic medications
