Job Title: Progressive Care/Stepdown Nurse
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary:
The Progressive Care/Stepdown Nurse provides care to patients who have transferred from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but still require close monitoring and specialized medical attention. They work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to assist in the recovery and stabilization of patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor vital signs and perform clinical assessments.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
4. Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care and follow-up appointments.
5. Assist with procedures such as wound care, central line maintenance, and ventilator management.
6. Document patient progress and communicate any changes to the healthcare team.
7. Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care setting
4. Strong critical thinking and communication skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care
6. Knowledge of EHR systems and medical terminology
