Job Title: Operating Room / Scrub Surgical Technologist
Shift: Mon- Fri (3pm to 11:30pm) with call Monday through Friday (11:30pm - 7am) | 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Abingdon, VA
Job Summary:
The Operating Room / Scrub Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining operating rooms for surgical procedures. They assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies, and ensure a sterile environment is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
2. Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies
3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
4. Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting incision sites
5. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment
6. Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room
7. Document patient information and surgical procedures
8. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
2. High school diploma or equivalent
3. Previous experience as a surgical technologist in an operating room setting
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. BLS certification
