Job Title: RN-Labor and Delivery
Shift: Night Shift 5p-5a
Location: Scottsbluff, NE
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
As an RN-Labor and Delivery, you will provide compassionate and skilled care to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. You will assess the needs of both the mother and baby, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assist with the delivery process. You will also educate patients on prenatal care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor mothers and babies throughout the labor and delivery process
2. Administer medications, IVs, and epidurals as needed
3. Assist with inductions, cesarean sections, and vaginal deliveries
4. Provide emotional support to mothers and families during childbirth
5. Educate patients on prenatal care and postpartum care
6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for mothers and babies
7. Document patient care and progress in medical records
8. Assist with newborn assessments and care immediately following delivery
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- BSN degree (preferred)
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
