Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Shift: M-F days with rotating call nights and weekends | 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Spencer, IA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic team. The Surgical Technologist will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. This is a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating rooms for surgery by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
2. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
3. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to prevent infections.
4. Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
5. Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room.
6. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and instruments.
7. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests.
8. Assist in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
9. Provide support to surgical team members as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
2. At least 2 years of experience working as a Surgical Technologist.
3. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
8. Current CPR certification.
