Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Shift: Varied Shift - 4x10
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Scottsbluff, NE
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting surgeons and operating room staff during surgical procedures. They ensure that the operating room is set up with the necessary equipment and supplies, maintain a sterile environment, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
2. Assist with patient positioning and draping
3. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as needed
4. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure
5. Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery
6. Assist with wound closure and dressing application
7. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after each procedure
8. Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Completion of a surgical technology program from an accredited institution
2. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
3. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to lift and move patients as needed
7. Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy
