Job Summary:
The RN Joint & Spine Center/Musculoskeletal is responsible for coordinating and providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with joint and spine-related musculoskeletal conditions. They work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients throughout their treatment process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and monitor patients' musculoskeletal conditions, including joint replacements, spinal injuries, and orthopedic surgeries
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and treatment goals
- Administer medications, assist with procedures, and provide patient education on post-operative care and rehabilitation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and facilitate communication between healthcare providers
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in medical records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current on best practices in musculoskeletal nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic or musculoskeletal nursing
- BLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology
