Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will provide care and support to expectant mothers and their babies before, during, and after childbirth. You will assess patients, administer medications, monitor fetal heart rates, and assist with deliveries. Your role will be to ensure a safe and positive birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor maternal and fetal vitals during labor
2. Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain relief as needed
3. Assist with labor induction and augmentation
4. Provide emotional support and guidance to expectant mothers and their families
5. Assist with newborn care and breastfeeding support
6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
7. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
8. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
9. Attend deliveries and provide immediate postpartum care
10. Educate patients on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license
2. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in labor and delivery nursing (L&D) preferred
4. At least 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
7. Knowledge of obstetric practices and procedures
8. Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care
9. CPR certification
10. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
