Job Title: RN - Labor Delivery
Job Summary:
As an RN in Labor Delivery, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to expectant mothers throughout the labor and delivery process. You will work closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and positive birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the progress of labor and assess the health status of both mother and baby
- Administer medications and IV fluids as needed
- Assist with the birthing process, including coaching mothers through contractions and delivering newborns
- Provide postpartum care to both mother and baby
- Educate new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Document all patient interactions and follow hospital protocols for medical record keeping
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Previous experience in labor and delivery preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of current best practices in obstetric care
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
