Job Title: RN-PACU (Registered Nurse - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
Job Summary:
As an RN in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will be responsible for providing high quality and compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia. You will assess patient needs, monitor vital signs, and administer medications as needed to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing patient condition upon arrival to the PACU
- Monitoring vital signs and patient response to anesthesia
- Providing post-operative care and pain management
- Collaborating with anesthesia providers and surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educating patients and families on post-operative care instructions
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Previous experience in PACU or critical care setting preferred
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
