Job Title: Dosimetrist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dosimetrist to join our team. The Dosimetrist will work alongside medical physicists and radiation oncologists to create treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physics, mathematics, and medical imaging techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop accurate and effective radiation therapy treatment plans for patients.
2. Collaborate with medical physicists and radiation oncologists to ensure treatment plans meet quality and safety standards.
3. Utilize specialized software to calculate radiation doses and create treatment fields.
4. Review patient charts and medical histories to determine the best course of treatment.
5. Monitor patient progress during treatment and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
6. Stay current on advances in radiation therapy technology and techniques.
7. Maintain detailed documentation of treatment plans and patient progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry or related field.
2. Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) preferred.
3. Strong understanding of radiation therapy principles and techniques.
4. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
5. Proficiency in using dosimetry software programs.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
