Job title: Infection Control Nurse
Job Summary:
The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for preventing and controlling infections within healthcare facilities. They develop and implement infection control policies, educate staff on proper protocols, monitor infection rates, and investigate outbreaks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
- Educate staff on proper infection control protocols
- Monitor infection rates and trends within the facility
- Investigate outbreaks of infections and implement appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to prevent and control infections
- Stay current on infection control guidelines and best practices
- Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of improvement
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field
- Strong knowledge of infection control principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively
- Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred
