Job title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to provide surgical care to patients. They will be responsible for assessing patients prior to surgery, monitoring patients during procedures, and assisting surgeons as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform pre-operative assessments on patients
- Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgeon
- Monitor patients during surgery and provide support as needed
- Assist with surgical procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies
- Ensure the operating room is properly sterile and prepared for surgery
- Document and communicate all patient care activities to the healthcare team
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients for any complications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of employment
- BLS and ACLS certification
- At least 2 years of experience working in an operating room setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
