Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care and support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. You will assist with labor and delivery, monitor the mother and baby's vital signs, and provide emotional support to both the mother and her family during this special time.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor the mother's progress during labor and delivery
2. Administer medications as needed
3. Assist with various medical procedures, such as epidurals or cesarean sections
4. Provide emotional support to the mother and her family
5. Educate the mother on newborn care and breastfeeding
6. Document all patient care and observations
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current RN license
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
