Job title: Registered Nurse - Oncology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to cancer patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and educating patients and their families about treatment options and side effects.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administering chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by physicians
2. Monitoring patient vital signs and assessing for any adverse reactions
3. Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
4. Educating patients on their diagnosis, treatment plan, and self-care techniques
5. Collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans
6. Documenting patient progress and communicating any changes to the healthcare team
7. Participating in ongoing education and professional development opportunities
8. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines and best practices in oncology nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
7. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
8. Ability to provide empathetic and compassionate care to patients
9. Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and side effects
