Job Title: Cytotechnologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our team. The Cytotechnologist will be responsible for examining and analyzing cell samples for signs of abnormalities, including cancerous and precancerous cells. This individual will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with various medical conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and stain slides of cell samples for examination under a microscope
- Identify and categorize abnormal cells and communicate findings to healthcare providers
- Assist with fine needle aspiration procedures to collect cell samples
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of test results
- Follow safety and quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in cytotechnology or a related field
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) through a recognized accrediting body
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance standards
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred
