Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Oncology department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to cancer patients, administering treatments, monitoring patients' progress, and offering support to both patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer chemotherapy and other treatments to cancer patients
2. Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being
3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
4. Educate patients and their families about cancer treatments, side effects, and self-care techniques
5. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families
6. Document patient information accurately and timely
7. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
8. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in oncology treatments
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Previous experience in oncology nursing is preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
7. BLS certification
8. Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) is a plus
