Job Title: Registered Nurse-Step Down
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse-Step Down will provide nursing care and support to patients who are transitioning from the intensive care unit to a general medical-surgical unit. They will monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, collaborate with other healthcare team members, and educate patients and their families on post-discharge care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patient vital signs and condition.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to create care plans.
4. Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and medication management.
5. Assist with the transfer of patients between units.
6. Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
7. Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
9. Participate in continuous education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in nursing.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care setting.
4. BLS and ACLS certifications.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
8. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
9. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
