Job title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse
Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to patients with mental health and behavioral disorders. They will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients. The Behavioral Health RN will also provide crisis intervention, medication management, and emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate mental health status and develop individualized treatment plans
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Provide counseling and emotional support to patients and families
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers
- Participate in treatment team meetings to review patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options
- Document patient interactions and treatment outcomes
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding patient care and confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS Required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Certification in psychiatric and mental health nursing (PMHN) a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Empathy and compassion for patients with mental health disorders
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
