Job Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to provide basic nursing care to patients in various healthcare settings. LPNs assist with patient assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and update patient records.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
2. Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
3. Assist with routine medical procedures, such as dressing changes and wound care.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
5. Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
7. Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times.
8. Adhere to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
9. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in nursing.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
2. Completion of an accredited LPN program.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
5. Attention to detail and accuracy in patient care.
6. Compassion and empathy for patients.
7. Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
