Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN L&D)
Shift: 6:45AM - 7:15PM
Location: Rockford, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to pregnant women and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. You will monitor the mother and baby's vital signs, administer medications, assist with birthing procedures, and provide emotional support to the patient and their family.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the progress of labor and assess the mother and baby's condition
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and epidurals as needed
- Assist with birthing procedures, including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Provide emotional support and education to the patient and their family
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Document all patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
- Perform postpartum assessments and provide follow-up care as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of childbirth practices and procedures
