Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN L&D)
SHIFTS: Night Shift
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Gonzales, TX
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will provide compassionate and high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborn babies. You will support women through the childbirth process, including labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs during labor
2. Assist with labor induction and augmentation
3. Administer medications as needed, including pain relief and oxytocin
4. Assist with birthing procedures, such as cesarean sections and episiotomies
5. Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families
6. Care for newborns immediately after birth, including feeding and vital sign monitoring
7. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for mother and baby
8. Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in high-stress situations
