Job Summary:
The LPN/LVN is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians in various healthcare settings. Their duties involve assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and monitoring patient progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care
2. Conduct patient assessments and document findings accurately
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
4. Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the supervising nurse
5. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
6. Educate patients and their families on health and wellness topics
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
8. Adhere to all healthcare policies and procedures to ensure patient safety
9. Assist with medical procedures and treatments as needed
10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices in nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification
2. CPR certification
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
5. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
6. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Basic computer skills for electronic health record documentation
