Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. This individual will be responsible for preparing the operating room, organizing surgical equipment, and assisting with surgical procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain a sterile field during surgery to prevent infections
- Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites
- Maintain a safe and clean operating environment
- Assist with post-operative care of patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with surgical team members
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
