Title: LPN / LVN - Emergency Department (Nursing)

Job Description:

Currently seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN/LVN to join our Emergency Department team in Binghamton, NY. As an LPN/LVN in the Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care during critical situations.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs, history taking, and preliminary examinations to assist in patient triage.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses in various medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and IV insertion.
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care to promote optimal outcomes.
  • Respond promptly to emergent situations, providing immediate care and support as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain standards of practice and patient safety.


Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
  • Current LPN/LVN licensure in the state of New York.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in an emergency department or critical care setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.


Shift: 12 hrs. Evening shift


Pay Package:

  • Weekly gross: $1800 - $1500
  • Hourly Pay: $50 - $40


About Facility:

  • Level II Trauma and Stroke Center, Emergency Care
  • 49 beds on unit
  • Patient population: mixed
  • Unit ranging ranging from acute medical and surgical emergencies to other urgent illnesses and injuries.
  • Level 2 Trauma Center, Regional Stroke and Stemi center
