Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with breathing disorders, providing respiratory care for patients in various healthcare settings. You will work closely with physicians to develop treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and educate patients on how to manage their respiratory conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitoring and adjusting mechanical ventilation for patients in critical care units
- Educating patients on proper breathing techniques and self-care practices
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Responding to emergency situations and providing life-saving respiratory interventions
- Documenting patient care activities and maintaining accurate medical records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Must hold a current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) required
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in acute care settings preferred
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and procedures
