Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care facility, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting residents with activities of daily living. Your role is crucial in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of the elderly residents in your care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with bathing, grooming, and dressing
2. Help residents with eating and encourage proper nutrition
3. Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
4. Assist with transferring and repositioning residents to prevent pressure ulcers
5. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
6. Assist with toileting and incontinence care
7. Follow care plans and communicate with the healthcare team about residents' needs
8. Keep accurate records of patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current CNA certification
2. High school diploma or equivalent
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Compassionate and patient demeanor
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
6. Basic understanding of medical terminology
7. Ability to lift and move patients safely
8. Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights and weekends
