Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant in Long-Term Care (CNA-LTC) plays a crucial role in providing quality care and support to residents in long-term care facilities. The CNA-LTC assists residents with daily activities, monitors their health, and provides emotional support to promote their overall well-being.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
- Monitor and record residents' vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Assist with transferring and positioning residents to prevent bedsores and maintain mobility
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Help residents with physical therapy exercises and other rehabilitation activities
- Keep residents' living areas clean and organized
- Follow safety protocols and infection control measures
- Collaborate with the nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for residents
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
- Previous experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Physical stamina to lift and move residents when necessary
