Job Summary:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care and assistance to patients in healthcare settings under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. CNAs play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients by assisting with daily activities and monitoring their health status.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitoring and recording vital signs
- Assisting with mobility and transferring patients
- Providing emotional support to patients and their families
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Performing routine tasks such as changing linens and stocking supplies
- Following care plans and reporting any changes in patient condition to the nurse
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current certification as a nursing assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Compassion and empathy for patients
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move patients when necessary
