Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Med Surg is responsible for providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. They will assess patient needs, administer medication, coordinate with healthcare team members, and educate patients on their treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring patient health status.
2. Administering medication and treatments according to physician orders.
3. Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
4. Educating patients and their families on treatment plans and self-care.
5. Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records.
6. Providing emotional support and comfort to patients.
7. Adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
9. Adhering to professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
7. Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
8. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
