Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (RN L&D)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care to expectant mothers and their newborns during labor and delivery. You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and comfortable birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor fetal heart rate and contraction patterns
- Administer medication and pain relief as needed
- Assist with labor induction and augmentation
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families
- Assist with medical procedures such as cesarean sections and episiotomies
- Care for newborns immediately after delivery
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or Labor and Delivery Nursing (L&D RN) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in labor and delivery nursing
